Derek, perhaps the most important (and hardest) thing to do, is to listen to your body. This is especially hard when you start seeing great improvements in your overall training runs and races. The mind wants to add more and more, when it should instead rest the body. I think you are onto great things. Just rest when you need it, use alternate means of exercise when forced to, and run like hell when your body can (of course), and you will do great!
Best of luck in Chicago, but I'm sure I'll be wishing you (and Mike) that as the time draws nearer!!

Hi Derek. Good luck with the training and the sub 4hr goal. 5K time plugged in to McMillan gives a pretty close predicted time to your marathon time goal so keep at it.

AWESOME! I'm trying Higdon's 18wk program, hope I'm doing the right thing.

Sub-4hr!? That's a great goal, I'll be happy with sub-5 after my first performance. :)
