Result of Podiatrist Visit

powerstep.jpg

I saw the Podiatrist yesterday. He was unable to discern any problems with my feet, but he said there were some very subtle issues. I understood that to mean that I’m probably just about average as I know no one is ever perfect.

As a first step, he gave me some off-the-shelf insoles from Powerstep. He wants me to use them for a week and take a note of any improvements or lack thereof. Depending on what I find, we may move to more expensinve custom orthotics.

I used them yesterday for a 4-mile run. I didn’t have any knee pain in the normal spot, but I did notice a very slight discomfort on the outside of my right knee. It’s too early to tell if they are making a difference. The real test may be when I try a long run on Sunday.

Surprised that you got a off the shelf insole… I had mine custom made and love them but then again our feet are two different feet… I hope that this gets things straightened out for you

He wanted to try and off-the-shelf insole as a starting point. Based on my feedback, he will see if custom orthotics will help. At this point, I don’t think orthotics will help.
