Yes, the title is correct…I did a bonus run this week. If you have been reading my blog, you’ll know that I had been traveling on business during week 2. Instead of running in the morning on Mon, Wed, and Fri, it was easier to do the workout the evenings before, so I did it on Sun, Tue, and Thu. That means that I would have had a rather long break between the Thursday workout and the Monday morning workout.
I decided to do an extra workout this morning. Yes folks…..I actually got myself out of bed ON A SATURDAY, and AT 6:15AM!! I must be going crazy!
I had a choice….I could have done another week 2 workout, or I could have gotten a jump on the week 3 workouts. I decided to do the week 3 since it looked hard with a 3-minute jog and I knew I was just about only able to do the 90 seconds in week 2.
Well, the workout was HARD. It harkened me back to the very first workout I had done on the program. The feet hurt, my calves hard, and my breathing was tough. The first 90-second jog was fine, but the 3-minute jog was a killer. I had to push myself pretty hard to run it non-stop. I definitely needed the full 3-minute walk that followed.
The next 90-second was tough, but not any more so that the other latter-interval jogs this week.
The second 3-minute jog was an even bigger killer. Unfortunately I couldn’t run the entire 3-minutes non-stop. I took a 10-second walking break about 2 minutes in. To compensate, I ran the last 30 seconds at a pretty fast clip.
I’m glad I got a early start on the week 3 workout, but I’m even happier I actually did the 4th run this week and that I did it on a Saturday.
